ASUS adds Prime X299 Deluxe II motherboard

Compatible with Core X CPUs

The ASUS Prime X299 Deluxe II is another Intel X299 motherboard that should help filling gaps in the ASUS X299 lineup. Since Intel has refreshed its Core X-series with higher performance potential and solder TIM, ASUS has updated its motherboards as well. This motherboard drops support for Intel's Kaby Lake-X CPUs and focuses on the Skylake-X generation.

Like the same model from the previous generation the Prime X299 Deluxe II is based on an ATX form factor, yet this time ASUS is using all the area available on the PCB. Nevertheless the Prime X299 Deluxe II also comes with RGB LED which have been integrated into heat sink and there are steel reinforcements on three PCIe slots. In the center of the motherboard, ASUS has added a tiny OLED display called LiveDash which shows custom information such as temperatures, CPU frequency, fan speed and much more.

In general the layout is quite similar to the previous model and therefore it has also been equipped with three full-sized PCIe 3.0 x16 slots. There are eight SATA ports and three M.2 slots allowing the installation of differently sized SSDs. Since the Prime X299 Deluxe II is supposed to belong to the vendor’s high-end motherboards, there is also a plastic I/O cover which received a RGB backlight. Furthermore there are all the bells and whistles you'd ask for in the event of overclocking.

The Prime X299 Deluxe II should be available quite soon and we expect to see it listed on Geizhals sooner than later as well.
