ASUS adds Prime X299 Deluxe II motherboard

Compatible with Core X CPUs

The ASUS Prime X299 Deluxe II is another Intel X299 motherboard that should help filling gaps in the ASUS X299 lineup. Since Intel is refreshing its Core X-series with higher performance potential and solder TIM, ASUS is getting ready for those chips. This motherboard drops support for Intel's Kaby Lake-X CPUs and focuses more on Skylake-X generation.

Like the same model from the previous generation the Prime X299 Deluxe II is based on an ATX form factor, yet this time ASUS is using all the area available on the PCB. Nevertheless the Prime X299 Deluxe II also comes with RGB backlight above each heat sink and there are steel reinforcements on three PCIe slots. In the middle part of the motherboard, ASUS has added a tiny OLED display called LiveDash which shows custom information such as system temperatures, CPU frequency, fan speed and much more.

In general the layout is quite similar to the previous model and therefore it has also been equipped with three full-sized PCIe 3.0 x16 slots. There are eight SATA ports and three M.2 slots allowing the installation of differently sized SSDs. Since the Prime X299 Deluxe II should belong to the vendor’s high-end series, there is also a plastic I/O cover which received a RGB backlight. Furthermore we also see all the bells and whistles you'd ask for in the event of overclocking.

So far ASUS has not revealed details on pricing and availability on their X299 Deluxe II but we are sure we will know more during next weeks.
