Cannon Lake Core i3-8121U spotted

Without iGPU?

After months of rumors and speculations, Intel has silently unveiled the first Cannon Lake processor: the Core i3-8121U. The company has added the CPU in its ARK database today and we have a full list of specifications.

The ARK database confirms that the Core i3-8121U is a dual core, four thread chip with a 2.2GHz base clock and a 3.2GHz Turbo Boost frequency. Since this chip comes with Turbo Boost, it might be rather interesting and handful for several users. The Core i3-8121U supports up to 32 GB of non-ECC DDR4-2400, LPDDR4-2400, and LPDDR4X-2400 memory in dual channel configuration. The chip is fabricated on Intel's 10-nm process and sports 10W TDP.

According to the specifications, the integrated graphics processor looks disabled. Furthermore the page doesn't mention the AVX-512 supports. At the moment isn't clear, but Intel might have disabled this function due to thermal reasons.

At this time Intel hasn't listed a price for the chip, but we can find it already in few NUCs or mobile devices as a soldered part.
