AMD unveils Ryzen Mobile with Vega GPU

During Financial Analyst Day 2017

During their Financial Analyst Day 2017, AMD announced the new Ryzen Mobile CPUs with an integrated Vega graphics unit. The combination of the two new architectures will make these APUs perform much better than the previous chips, while also energy efficiency is supposed to be better.

Compared to AMD's 7th generation Bristol Ridge APUs, the Ryzen Mobile chips are supposed to be up to 50% faster on the CPU side and up to 40% quicker on the GPU side. The Ryzen Mobile platform is another big step forward for AMD, being able to offer low-cost mobile chips that perform well and are energy efficient. They’re even supposed offer enough power so casual games can be run decently.

When it comes to availability, it’s expected that the new APUs start to surface in notebooks as well as consumer systems in general by the second half of 2017.
